"Open government is critical to an informed public, and an informed public is critical to democracy" (Judith Zaffirini). This as a quote from an advocate of government transparency. Clarity is an important role in a government. Many people, including presidents, have tried to on the challenge of accountability, including President John Adams and President Barack Obama. John Adams contributed by informing the people about this problem. President Barack Obama broke a barriers on his first day of presidency to allow the government to become more transparent and open to public. Even with the help of supporters, this remains a problem as technology has progressed. With technology, there is an outlet for information to be transmitted, but this has also worsened the case as the information can be enclosed as well. When change is attempted, there usually is little to no participation or support from the public.
