Why Government Transparency?

These days, honesty is like a diamond in the rough. It's hard to find people that will speak and act honestly, especially when it comes to our government. According to the Ballotpedia, "openness, accountability, and honesty define government transparency". The government and its officials exist to serve the people. Accountability has been a constant issue in governments since early times. Our governments are making deals behind closed doors, and they are not informing the public. This issue concerns all the levels of the democratic government.

We all have a voice, and we should use our voices to make a change locally and nationally. Become informed about government transparency and take action to make the wall between the government and the people cLeAr as gLaSS.

There are steps to take and actions to execute in order to shine a light on the importance of government transparency. One course of action is whistleblowing. A whistleblower reports misconduct or illicit activity. Exposing these is a good and effective way of revealing hidden information in our governments. We elect our government officials to serve the people, so we the people should have access to such crucial information in and about the government.
